L5 Foundation, an organization dedicated to addressing the essential and basic needs of cancer patients, hosted a fundraising dinner at the home of David and Carol Bryant. Featured that evening were six top Southern chefs who prepared the evening’s culinary delights: James Lewis from Birmingham; Kevin Nashan from St. Louis; Edgar Pendley from Nashville; Terry Redd from Knoxville; Matthew Ridgeway from Atlanta; and Michael Sullivan from Arkansas City, Kansas.
Guests dined on hors d’ oeuvres such as pork croquette with celery root remoulade, crawfish pot pies, hazelnut infused deviled quail egg and watercress salad with pancetta. The Justin Haynes Band played, magician Tom Vorjerhan delighted guests, and finally, there was the unveiling and auction of 10 handcrafted Live Five medallion designed by Kimball’s Jewelers and Melody Stallings.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Caring Plate to provide cancer patients with healthy meals and Angels of Hope, which gives food baskets for patients going through treatment during the holiday season.
